Mr. Bassett has been a management consultant for nearly 30 years. He is president of The Bassett Consulting Group, Inc., of Thornwood, New York which he founded in 1986. Previously, for 10 years, he was President of Professional Services with Applied Leadership Technologies, Inc., which he founded with several associates in 1976. Previous to that he was a senior consultant with Organizational Resources Counselors, which he joined in 1966.
Mr. Bassett's experience as a Certified Management Consultant includes work in industry, retailing, banking, government organizations, hospitality, health care and academia. He held important line and staff positions for more than 10 years before becoming a consultant in 1996. He has extensive experience in the full range of employee/labor relations, organization development, compensation, customer service and sales.
Mr. Bassett is a nationally known motivational speaker having appeared as a keynote and featured speaker before numerous groups. In his work with many hundreds of organizations throughout the United States he has designed a number of innovative approaches that offer practical answers to many important problems inherent in today's competitive environment. He has conducted workshops and seminars on a broad range of topics and has been featured in a number of video programs. He has also produced a nationally distributed audiocassette album entitled, "Getting a Good Job in Tough Times" and a video seminar, "How to Achieve What Others Only Dream."
His background as a writer includes a successful management book, "Achieving Excellence," which was published by Aspen Publications, plus numerous articles. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor at New York University and New York Medical College, teaching at the graduate level at both institutions. He has been a guest lecturer at a number of other prominent universities in the United States and abroad. For many years he also has been an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association.
His involvement with professional societies includes his holding the position of vice president and member of the Board of Directors of the New York chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants, the principal certifying body for professional consultants. He also is listed in "Who's Who in Professional Speaking" as a member of The National Speaker's Association.
Mr. Bassett holds B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from New York University.
